Rousey Does it Again !

WMMA History in the making….WOW! Ronda Rousey and Liz Carmouche came out storming!

Rousey dragged her down, but Carmouche got to her back putting Rousey in trouble by attempting a painful looking face torque. Carmouche tried to adjust her forearm under Rousey’s neck for a rear naked choke, then switched to a neck crank, but no such luck. Rousey finally shook her off!

Rousey got Carmouche to the ground again holding her in a Kesa-Gatame and softening Carmouche up with punches before the inevitable….arm bar in stellar fashion!

Official: Ronda Rousey remains the Champ defeating Liz Carmouche via submission (armbar) – Round 1, 4:49

The fight was exciting, lived up to the hype. I do wish, however, that Ronda had allowed it to go to round 2. From a fan of WMMA standpoint, I feel it would have been a better show if it had gone longer. Ronda is obviously dominant, and the jiu jistu and matt work almost impossible to get out of. If she could win a fight by knockout, it would seal my belief of her being a great fighter. The women are going in fearless, and put on a great show, just wish a Rousy fight would go to round 2, just a little more action

Nice fight and already looking forward to her next one with Cat Zingano although we were hoping to see the fued with Miesha Tate continue on the next season of TUF. Guess we will have to wait a few more fights for that rematch.
