That’s right, Amanda’s BACK! and looking for a FIGHT for 2012!

She is looking to make her return to the cage as soon as possible. Buckner was set to come back last year but suffered a knee injury that required surgery. Her last fight was in 2008. Since then she has been busy teaching and has helped to advance women’s MMA along with her husband Jay Jack at their school The Academy in Maine.

Jill Valenzuella-Amanda Buckner-Maria Rios

This past September GFL held the first MMA event in Maine which featured two female bouts of which Buckner cornered. Fighters, Jill Valenzuella on the left and Maria Rios on the right, both won their fights against tough competitors.

Amanda was in negotiations to fight for GFL in Maine, but they decided to sign her husband instead. For her the experience of fighting in her hometown would be huge. It would have been the first time in her career she’d have the chance to fight in front of her family and students! On the upside having her husband Jay Jack fight will be huge for their gym.
